Some vehicles cannot simply be hooked and dragged. Low ground clearance, all-wheel drive, air suspension, a restoration you have four years into.
Not exotic — just something about it that makes a standard hook-up a bad idea. Usually one of five things:
This is the single most useful thing you can do. A driver who knows what is coming brings the right ramps, the right straps and the right plan. A driver who finds out at the curb has to improvise, and improvising is how vehicles get damaged.
What helps: the year, make and model; whether it is lowered and by how much; whether it is AWD; whether it rolls, steers and shifts into neutral; how much room there is where it is parked; and anything that has already been damaged.
Photos help enormously. A couple of pictures of the vehicle and where it is parked tells us more in ten seconds than five minutes on the phone. Call (636) 466-8097 and we will tell you where to send them.
Older vehicles bring their own quirks: original and brittle bodywork, non-standard tie-down points, bumpers that were never structural, drum brakes that may not hold on a ramp, and paint that is worth more than the tow.
If the car is going to a show, an auction, a buyer or a restorer, say so. It changes how carefully everything gets strapped and where those straps go.
Across the county — garages and driveways in Lake Saint Louis, Cottleville and Weldon Spring, and the rural properties out toward Defiance and Augusta where a project car has been sitting in a barn for a decade. Tight garages and gravel drives are both normal for us.
Approach angle is the problem. Longer ramps and a slower load solve it.
Generally needs all four wheels off the ground to protect the drivetrain.
It may be sitting on the stops. Tell us — it changes the load completely.
Tie-down points and brittle bodywork need a plan, not a guess.
Winching job rather than a drive-on. Flag it when you call.
Access is half the work. Describe the space and we will bring the right truck.
These jobs are almost never emergencies, which means there is no excuse for rushing them. Being local lets us schedule properly, arrive with the right equipment, and take the time the vehicle actually needs.
We are based at 1890 1st Capitol Dr. #553 in St. Charles and we hold the St. Charles County towing license, which is approved by the County Chief of Police and renewed every year. That is not a formality — it means the county knows who we are, and it is a meaningful difference from an out-of-county operator who happened to answer the phone.
Specialized Towing calls often turn into Long Distance Towing, Motorcycle Transport and Winch-Out Recovery as well. One truck, one call, one bill. See everything we do, the towns we cover, or our highway response areas.
Tell us what it is and where it is. Photos are welcome.
