Turn the key and get a click, or nothing at all. We come to you, get the engine running, and tell you honestly whether the battery will get you home.
You call, you tell us where the vehicle is and roughly what it is, and a truck comes out. We connect properly, get the engine turning, and then — this is the part that matters — we let it run and check whether the charging system is actually putting current back into the battery.
A jump start is not a repair. It is a way to get a running engine so you can drive somewhere useful. Whether that is your driveway or a shop depends on what is wrong, and after a few minutes with the engine running we usually have a reasonable idea which.
Three very different problems produce a car that will not start, and they need different answers:
We will tell you if a jump is not going to solve it. Sending a truck twice in one day is a bad outcome for you and for us. If the battery is finished or the alternator is not charging, we will say so and we will tow it instead.
Cold does two things at once. It slows the chemical reaction inside the battery, so it delivers less current, and it thickens the engine oil so the starter has to work harder. A battery that was quietly weak all summer suddenly cannot cope with the first hard freeze.
That is why the phone rings all morning after the first genuinely cold night of the year in St. Charles County. If your car has been cranking slowly, get the battery tested before December rather than after.
Park-and-ride lots, long-stay parking, the St. Charles riverfront and casino lots after an evening out, the Mid Rivers retail corridor, and residential driveways across O’Fallon and Wentzville first thing in the morning. We also get a steady number from the I-70 corridor rest areas and gas stations.
Classic low battery. There is enough power for the solenoid and not enough for the starter motor.
The battery is going. It might start today and not tomorrow — get it tested.
Could be battery, could be starter or ignition. Worth a look before anyone buys parts.
That points at the charging system, not the battery. A jump will not keep it running — plan on a tow.
The good version of this problem. A jump and a decent drive usually sorts it.
Stop jumping it. Either the battery is finished or something is draining it overnight.
A jump start is a small job where response time is the whole service. Nobody wants to wait ninety minutes in a parking lot for a five minute fix. We dispatch from inside St. Charles County, which is the difference between a short wait and a long one.
We are based at 1890 1st Capitol Dr. #553 in St. Charles and we hold the St. Charles County towing license, which is approved by the County Chief of Police and renewed every year. That is not a formality — it means the county knows who we are, and it is a meaningful difference from an out-of-county operator who happened to answer the phone.
Jump Start calls often turn into Roadside Assistance, Emergency Towing and Lockout Service as well. One truck, one call, one bill. See everything we do, the towns we cover, or our highway response areas.
One call and a truck comes out. We answer 24 hours a day.
