What to have ready when you call

None of this is compulsory — call first and we will work it out — but having it to hand makes the call shorter and the arrival faster.

• Where you are. A street address, or on a highway: the road, your direction of travel, and the last exit you passed. A location pin from your phone is ideal.
• The vehicle. Year, make, model and color. It determines which truck we send.
• Whether it rolls, steers and shifts into neutral. The single most useful thing you can tell us.
• What happened. Won’t start, flat tire, collision, stuck off the road, locked out, out of fuel.
• Where it needs to go. A shop, a dealer, your home. If you do not know yet, that is fine.
• Whether anyone is hurt. If so, call 911 first. Always.
