Where I-70 meets I-64 at the western end of the county. A lot of traffic funnels through here, and a fair amount of it stops unexpectedly.
Wentzville is where I-70 and I-64 converge at the western edge of St. Charles County, which makes it the funnel for everything moving between the St. Louis metro and the rest of Missouri. It has also been one of the fastest-growing cities in the state, which means a lot of new roads, new subdivisions and new drivers on all of them.
The General Motors Wentzville Assembly plant is the largest employer and generates its own traffic pattern — shift changes, supplier trucks, and a steady flow of commercial vehicles. Wentzville Parkway, Highway Z, Highway A and Pearce Boulevard carry the local traffic.
The interstate junction. Merging between two interstates at speed is where a lot of our accident recovery calls come from. See I-70 and I-64 / US-40.
Running out of fuel heading west. Past Wentzville the gaps between exits on I-70 open up noticeably, and drivers who planned to fill up further along sometimes do not make it. See fuel delivery.
Commercial breakdowns. A manufacturing town on a freight corridor produces work trucks, vans and trailers that stop where they should not. See commercial towing and trailer towing.
Shift-change parking lots. Large lots with vehicles sitting for a full shift produce their share of dead batteries, particularly in winter.
Westbound on I-70 past Wentzville, the exits thin out. If your fuel light is on and you are heading west, use the last Wentzville exit rather than gambling on the next one. If it is already too late, call (636) 466-8097.
Wentzville is the furthest of our core towns from our base in St. Charles, and we still get there faster than most of the competition, because they are starting from the other side of the Missouri River and we are starting from the same side.
It also means the rural western edge — toward New Melle and out along Highway Z — is within our normal run rather than an unusual trip.
Most Wentzville calls are emergency towing and roadside assistance — jump starts, flat tires, lockouts and running out of fuel. We also do accident recovery, winch-outs, long distance towing, motorcycle transport, commercial and fleet work and abandoned vehicle removal.
Every driver is insured, every truck is dispatched from inside St. Charles County, and we answer the phone at any hour. Call (636) 466-8097.
