Where the suburbs run out and Highway 94 heads into the river bluffs. Two highways, a lot of conservation land, and thin cell coverage in places.
Weldon Spring sits where the built-up part of St. Charles County gives way to river bluffs, conservation land and farmland. Highway 94 runs through it heading southwest toward Defiance and Augusta, and Highway 40 / 61 (I-64) crosses the southern edge carrying traffic toward the Daniel Boone Bridge and St. Louis County.
The August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area, the Katy Trail, and the Weldon Spring Site with its distinctive disposal cell and interpretive trail all bring visitors who are not from around here — which is a meaningful part of our call volume.
Highway 94 south. Two lanes, curves, elevation changes and long stretches with no services. A breakdown here is genuinely isolated. See Highway 94 towing.
Highway 40 / 61 and the Daniel Boone Bridge approach. Interstate speeds, heavy commuter volume. See I-64 / US-40 towing.
Trailhead and conservation area parking. Vehicles sit for hours while people are on the trail, and they come back to dead batteries and keys locked inside — often with no other car in the lot.
Gravel and shoulder drop-offs. The rural roads out here have soft shoulders. One wheel off in the wet and you are in winch-out territory.
Cell coverage gets patchy toward the bluffs and along the trail. If you have a signal, use it — call, tell us where you are, and get a location pin sent while you still can. Walking to find signal is how people end up further from their vehicle than they meant to be.
Katy Trail users and Busch Conservation Area visitors produce a distinct pattern: a vehicle parked at a trailhead for four or five hours, an accessory left on, and a driver returning at dusk with a dead battery and nobody else around.
We cover all of it — the trailheads, the conservation area lots, and the rural roads that connect them. If you are not sure of the address, the name of the trailhead or the lot is usually enough.
Most Weldon Spring calls are emergency towing and roadside assistance — jump starts, flat tires, lockouts and running out of fuel. We also do accident recovery, winch-outs, long distance towing, motorcycle transport, commercial and fleet work and abandoned vehicle removal.
Every driver is insured, every truck is dispatched from inside St. Charles County, and we answer the phone at any hour. Call (636) 466-8097.
Weldon Spring borders Cottleville and Harvester to the north and east, with Dardenne Prairie and O'Fallon beyond. Highway 94 runs southwest to Defiance and Augusta. We also cover St. Charles, St. Peters, New Melle, Lake Saint Louis and Wentzville.
