Locally owned, based on 1st Capitol Drive, and licensed by the county we actually work in.
St. Charles Tow is a locally owned towing and roadside assistance company based at 1890 1st Capitol Dr. #553, St. Charles, MO 63301. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau, our drivers are insured, and we answer the phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
That is the short version. The longer version is about geography.
St. Charles County is separated from St. Louis County by the Missouri River, and there are only a handful of ways across it. The Blanchette Memorial Bridge on I-70 carries roughly 165,000 vehicles a day — the busiest bridge in the region. The Discovery Bridge on Highway 370 and the Daniel Boone Bridge on I-64 carry the rest.
When you search for a tow truck from a shoulder in St. Charles County, a great many of the results are companies based on the other side of those bridges. They will take your call. What they will not mention is that their truck has to get through the same traffic you are sitting in.
We start on this side. That is not marketing — it is the single practical difference that determines how long you stand on a shoulder, and it is the reason this business exists where it does.
We hold the towing business license required under St. Charles County Chapter 608. That license is approved by the County Chief of Police and renewed annually, and it requires drivers to be at least 18 with a valid Missouri chauffeur’s license.
For most jobs that is a background detail. For abandoned vehicle removal on private property it is the whole thing — a property manager wants a removal that is documented and defensible, not a favor from somebody with a truck.
Not an optimistic one. If we are forty minutes out, we will say forty minutes. The worst part of being stranded is not knowing.
You get a quote before we dispatch, and an itemized bill afterwards — which Missouri law requires anyway.
If you arranged the tow, you choose where the vehicle goes. Your mechanic, your dealer, your driveway.
If a jump start will not solve it, we will tell you so rather than come back tomorrow and charge you again.
Including the rural west. New Melle, Defiance and Augusta are long runs and plenty of operators decline them.
24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including holidays. Breakdowns do not keep business hours.
Fourteen services across twelve towns and seven highway corridors — from emergency towing and accident recovery through to jump starts, lockouts, motorcycle transport and fleet work.
Phone is best, always: (636) 466-8097. It is answered around the clock, and if you are stranded somewhere unsafe it is considerably faster than a form. For anything that is not urgent — a scheduled transport, a quote, a property-management inquiry — email Paul@StCharlesTow.com or use the contact page.
